②D5716 (JIS D5716) is

a standard established in September 2016.

This is an emergency escape aid for automobiles with seat belt cutting and glass breaking functions, used for emergency escape from inside a vehicle when trapped inside the vehicle in a traffic accident or submersion accident (excluding racing vehicles).

There are two types of emergency escape aid for automobiles.

① Basic function type: Only has seat belt cutting and glass breaking functions.

② Fire extinguishing function added type: Basic function type with fire extinguishing function added.

Among these, the JIS certified emergency tool is ① Basic function type.

②When is it useful?

When you are not paying attention to the road ahead while driving, such as using a mobile phone, operating a car navigation system, or watching TV, you may not be able to brake in time and end up rear-ending a car or equipment.

③How the emergency tool worksJIS

*Carbide hammer*

Carbide is harder than iron and stainless steel, and is second only to diamond in hardness.

Side glass is broken by applying force to one point. JIS certified emergency tools

are designed to be able to break glass with a small force by cutting the carbide tip one by one by hand.

The width of the opening of the seat belt is designed to prevent fingers from getting caught and causing injury. It has a

guide function to spread the seat belt so that it can be cut straight and not twisted.

The angle of the blade is designed to reduce the resistance with the seat belt so that it can be cut quickly.

*Hammer shape *

It has a structure that integrates glass breaking and seat belt cutting.

With a quick pull, the seat belt is cut, and the momentum breaks the side window. It is an ideal shape that can be used in a series of actions without having to change tools. The

handle has a grip that is easy to grip and does not slip.

Anyone who can drive a car can easily break glass.

④ Recommended installation location

: When an impact is applied during an accident, the seat belt is fixed, so the body cannot lean forward beyond the fixed position.

Therefore, we recommend installing it in a place that can be reached even if the body is fixed while sitting in the driver's seat.

・We recommend the area around the driver's seat, such as the center console.

・Remove dust and dirt from the back of the holder and the installation location, and attach it firmly using the included double-sided tape.

・Do not install near the airbag installation area.

⑤Precautions for use

⚠ The expiration date is 10 years from the date of manufacture. The serial number is printed on the back of the unit.

⚠ For side windows only. Cannot be used on front windows, rear windows, or laminated glass.

⚠ Do not cut anything other than seat belts.

⚠ When using, do not use force to shatter the glass. If you use too much force, the glass may fly off and cause injury.

⑥Customer feedback

: There are many cheap products out there, but it's better to be able to use the cutter and hammer without having to switch hands. It

broke with just a light knock.

The pieces shattered into pieces and didn't remain sharp, so I think it reduces the risk of injury. I

don't know about the cutter because I didn't use it.
